it's a giant western puffball. edible and choice when young, cut it vertically to see if it has bugs in it, and if it's still white all the way thru, its da bomb stir fry!!!

If you want spores from that just let it sit for a week or so and it turns into a pile of spores

You can add lemon juice to make the mushroom dissolve quicker.

Sorry for posting at the wrong side of the forum. I think the one i posted is not a giant western puffball. I will add more pictures to clarify if it was a giant western puffball.

From where did you get the mushroom? And why do you want to grow it? Is it a known choice edible?

I bought the dry mushroom on my visit to China. It taste like shiitake mushroom, but i thought shiitake can't grow until that big. Could it be shiitake?

Ahhhh I'm lost here..
You can try clipping the stem off and laying the cap gill side down on a sheet of foil.. Them take a moist paper towel and fold it up and lay it on the top of the cap to re hydrate it.. It may not drop spoor due to being dried already..
You could try and clone it from a cutting but hell thats a shot in the dark for a newb..
Heck I'm not so new here and I cant even get the understanding to clone..
So I guess ill say "Good Luck"...

@Ru5ty, Either Panaeolina foenisecii (not active) or Panaeolus cinctulus (weakly active), get a spore print and post it if you want to be sure. But if there's no rush you should be seeing Psilocybe semilanceata growing in a field near you pretty soon, and they are strongly active.
