Pressure Cooking Non-Standard Jars
    #575104 - 03/10/02 03:07 PM (22 years, 14 days ago)

Is it ok to pressure cook such jars as pasta sauce jars, etc. of that ilk? I am putting a polyfill filter into the lid, plus another small hole covered w/ tape for inoculation, I am wondering if I am building something dangerous here?

Just wondering because I've ran out of money to buy jars, and I only have my PC for another couple days...?

Any ideas are rad.

Your probably going to be fine.
Once i ran out of Quart jars and used a few Pasta sauce jars.
Nothing bad happened to them.

Glass is Glass & a Jar is a Jar. Some are more suited than others, as are the lids.

The Racoon, just for fun has even used large glass BEER MUGS. It all works -- if you use common sense & are clean about it. SixTango -- out
