why are psychedellicly minded people obsesed by snakes and stuff? Jim Morrison was the example i had in mind, but also fear and loathing in las vegas, and of course famously the bible. wass it all about?

Jung was a big part of adolf hitler's regime, we should remember that.

hmmm, i suppose u have got a point there, that would be like someone banning screwdrivers because somebody got stabbed with one, and of course its the screwdriver's fault.

Freidrick Nietzche was another one, the father of modern psychology - Jung would be nothing without him.

You left out the word "some". With at least 50 excursions under my belt and not one single snake, reptile or dragon, these archetypes may not be as common as you think, unless I just am not doing a "heroic" enough dose!

fair enough - to tell u the truth I havent seen any reptillian visions, but the fact is that its still an important symbol, the biblical connection. I just wondered whether anyone has any philosophical knowledge of the origins?

I think that would go along with the "Spit or Swallow?" thread about LSD in the Other Drugs forum.Teehee.By the way anyone who gets seriously offended by my last comment, well they most likely fit that category.

What about MJK's tatoo?
some reptiles change skin, which can represent rebirth...
Watch Tool's stinkfist video.

Some shamans used lizards and other reptiles on their rituals.

Escher's reptiles are cool:
