id request

Hi. I was walking a field in New england and i noticed these growing on the ground. It wasnt in the grass or on poop but in soil that had been agitated by a bulldozer track. There is poop very close to the location and i never seen these before. They are golden brown and have a tough kind of stalk. they are also lighter as the near the edges almost turning yellow. the gills are connected to the stalk and have a spore print of brown to dark brown. they grow in large quantities all over this area. any help would be appreciated.

I take it your talking about the photo in your Avatar?
Nothing active there.. The best mushrooms to look for in NE are Panaeolus subbalteatus..
if you are looking for an ID no matter just sit tight someone more educated on the NE states will chime in...

They're from the genus Agrocybe. Maybe Agrocybe pediades, probably not edible, maybe poisonous to some degree.

Thats good you got that cleared up man, unless you were already uncertain since i do think that i would at first assume those were edible psyilocibin mushies. Good luck finding some !
