roads to heaven are far and few, guns blazing everywhere but there not fighting for you.

I tend to agree. "The road to hell is paved with good intentions" is an adage that dead-brained fundamentalists expound.
-------------------- "Have you found the beginning, then, that you are looking for the end? You see, the end will be where the beginning is. Congratulations to the one who stands at the beginning: that one will know the end and will not taste death."

i don't like the road to hell quote at all.
if good intentions get you there... where do bad ones go?
it's like saying "why even bother" it's just some sort of fear-mongering residue....
good intentions may create bad things, but then you learn and adjust the intentions accordingly so as to avoid any more mistakes.
good intentions are vital.

It's curious how everyone has centred on the half of J's post which speaks of intention, but no one yet has touched on the other half of his post: wisdom. The two must be treated as inseperable if we're to grasp J's point: that real peace and happiness are attainable through the cultivation of the intention and the wisdom which actually function for that aim.
The adage "the road to hell is paved with good intentions" comes from people who've followed their good intentions, experienced bad results, and failed to realize the cause: a lack of wisdom. Such a mistake comes from the preconception that the way we perceive reality is intrinsically correct, and that our interaction with it is based on an objective understanding instead of a subjective one. From this ignorance, good intentions very often lead to very bad results.
If you have the intention to save an ailing friend's life by performing surgery on him, but at the same time have no understanding of anatomy or basic physiology, you are likely to bring about your friend's demise. This is especially true if you believe yourself to be a qualified surgeon when in fact you are not. In the same way, if you have the wish to work for the sake of good in the world, but have an incorrect understanding of it's nature, you are likely to worsen it's condition through inappropriate actions, especially if you believe your understanding of the nature of things is accurate when in reality it is not.

Alright, so we've gained a greater understanding of the difference between good intentions as formidable ideals and the living wisdom that seperate's the outcome from ether positive or negative consequences...but what about the real question at hand?
What is the true path to heaven??
