i have been searching for mushrooms for quite some time. my friends say that if it is a brownnish orange color with a white stem ,bruises blues and has a brownish spore print im good to go. they also say white/black spore prints are something i should stay away from. also is a spore print fool proof if i get a spore print then can i identify the species indefinetly by the color?

This is what you want to see.
A spoor is a spoor is a spoor.. Its the color of the spoor and the gill pattern that sticks the mushroom in a genius category. Now a gold yellow with whits stem blue bruising mushroom growing from cow shit does narrow it down. But thats about every description I have ever read regarding the P.Cubensis... Depending on where you live a Cubensis can vary a bit in size and color..But the spoor and the bruising are good ways to pin the tail on the donkey!

The active mushrooms you are looking for will have a purple print (as above) possibly with a slight tint of brown in it. Bruising blue is an excellent indicator, but there are some other things that bruise also. Cubensis wil be growing around dung, so thats also a good indicator.
You are looking for - a browny/yellow/creamy mushroom growing around dung that bruises blue easily (such as when you cut the stem), has a white stem, and has a purple spore print.

By the way dont listen to your friends, thats the kind of advise that can get someone really sick or even killed. Never eat wild mushrooms without a positive id.

If you find something thats fits the above description, take a pic and put it up here, people like to id things, especially so when its active.
Loads of people take a pic of "random mushroom in a field, is it magic?". Pretty much everytime the answer is NO - its poisoneous.
If you are just starting out, and are in the right states, go find a cow paddock, and start looking for shrooms growing near or out of the dung. Anything that fits the general description - snap the stem and see if it goes blue. If it does, take a pic and spore print it, chuck your pic up here and people can confirm your suspicions, and hopefully give you some good news.
