could a religious approach be used to decriminalize mushrooms
    #5587846 - 05/03/06 09:12 PM (17 years, 10 months ago)

when i do shrooms it truly is a spiritual and beautiful religious experience....the fact that its illegal would violate or limit my right to freedom of religion....Would any state listen and consider in this? arent some indians allowed to do shrooms and peyote on their reservation?

regardless I WILL TRY THIS SOMEDAY IN THE NEAR FUTURE

heres something similar i found in the drug war arena section of this site

from one of the links
Quote:

Membership cards will work like medical marijuana cards in CA, if a member is ever pulled over with cannabis, anywhere in the nation, they can present their card and show the authorities that they are lawfully in possession of religious marijuana.

this is a crock, in any state that doesnt support medical posession, you'd be
arrested, the US government has yet to recognize a religious use, do a great deal
of research on mushies and their spiritual use through history before you try
founding a 'church'

Yeah, that's pretty much the only reason that drugs are illegal, I think.

Fucking christians rule the world, man. Pseudo-christians, maybe, but they call themselves xtians anyway.

They think that drugs open up spiritual doorways to evil spirits and that if God wants someone to have a religious experience he will provide it.

Which is horseshit, obviously.

We need to abolish religion. Maybe, MAYBE, it had a useful influence in developing society, ONCE. Christianity has certainly made us go fucking backwards for a very long time. The only reason we have advanced at all through the dark ages is DESPITE christianity.

Isn't there a way to make everybody think that hurting other people is wrong, without religion? We are one fucked up species.

Dose tha planet. Maybe a true spiritual experience will kill what's left of religion.

People have used the "religious defense" numerous times. It doesn't work (unless you count peyote for Indians which was basically a grandfather clause thing).
