Sleep Paralysis

I had sleep paralysis last night and read up on it here... <a href>http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sleep_paralysis>
Sleep paralysis is when you wake up to find that you cannot move at all. During this short period of 2-3 minutes hallucinations are not common.
I learned that It happens when you wake up from REM sleep to a totall aware state.
After listening to Joe Rogans DMT audio concerning the pineal gland produceing DMT (or a similar chemical?) during heavy REM sleep. I thought...
Could sleep paralysis be the lingering effects of the pineal gland secreating these chemicals during REM? It seems this may be because of the hallucinations and out of body expiriences during this time.
I thought it was really interesting state to be in, I hope it happens again soon.

Well Terence said something interesting about after smoking DMT having dreams of the exact nature of the drug. However I have yet to do DMT and have experience sleep paralysis many times. In this state I always am stuck in a sort of OBE, sometimes struck with great fear and panic. I doubt it is from the DMT chemicals though.

You just got the fear.
I get that too.
Especially during sleep paralyisis.
I use to get "Incubis Nightmares"
which are common to people who get sleep paralysis.
Basically you wake up. Cannot move, cannot talk or scream. you get nervous. You sense a heavy dark force creeping up your chest, you feel as if its draining you of your energy.
You begin to scream in your head.
Then its gone and you can move.
No transition, just its there then its not, you are awake the whole time.
No fun.
I used to get them once or twice a month since puberty, until I was 21, then it was more like once every 3 months.
I dont get htem anymore! woo!

It's just some nights, you really want to go out, get some hot bitch to dump Goose down your throat and snort coke off a stripper's tits.

Ahh I get that shit all the time, it's annoying hah
easier way I find to induce it is to smoke weed before you go to bed for like a week (so you burn out and fall asleep really easy) then dont smoke weed one night and try to go to bed normally.
For me at least, when I dont smoke weed after a week of smoking it at bed time, I almost always experience it.

This topic has been discussed several times here over the years. I've experienced sleep paralysis on a regular basis all my life. It scared the shit outta me as a child since I didn't understand what was happening. As I got older and learned what was going on it became less scary and now I almost enjoy when it happens and experiment with different things each time (like trying to make it last as long as possible or trying to move a particular portion of my body first, say a certain finger or my tongue). It is still never really a 'pleasant' experience but it doesn't freak me out anymore. And it has become much less frequent over the years.

I rememeber the first time I had this happen to me. I was dreaming, and slowly I started to become aware of my bedroom, and then sort of aware that I was awake - but also having a nightmare.
I could feel a pressure on my chest, sensed a dark presence in the room - I tried to move but couldnt, I tried to scream - but couldnt breath. I thought I could hear my mom and sister down the hallway (they live in another city, I live on my own) -- I tried calling to them for help but couldnt get the voice out (and not like it would of anyways).
Scared the shit out of me.
When I was heavy into E, this would actually happen alot, it got to the point where I knew what was going on and just became a minor annoyance and I'd have to do the 'wiggle your big toe' ala Kill Bill to get the rest of my body moving.
One night, it happened to me about 5 times while trying to fall asleep. I'd be about to doze off and want to shift my body to get comfy and I couldnt move, would go through the whole thing to move again, turn over, be near falling asleep, then want to turn over again and couldnt move - drove me nuts.
