What?!?! Isn't that Russel Crowe's band? You can't be serious if we're talking about the same thing.......I sure hope we're not.

I was a little uneasy about it when I first listened to it, simply because it's such a new sound. But it grows on me more and more with each listen.

The album is phenomenal. Tool is doing for our generation, what Pink Floyd did for the generation before.
The album is a bit harder to get into than previous albums. Give it five or six listens and you'll be craving it all day.
Certain music, like food, appeals to some people, while simultaneously causing others to recoil in disgust. So I'm not saying that your wrong for not liking Vicarious, but I think that it will grow on you. There's a few new techniques that Tool has never before used in previous albums. The influence from Meshuggah may have been the main reason for this.
Please support the band and pay for the album.

I like tool and would consider myself a fan but i don't understand the big fascination with them and the general gusto of their fans.
lateralus was fucking amazing but everything else never got me much worked up. does it really take multiple listenings or something?
tool is no pink floyd IMO

I downloaded vicarious when I first heard about it through these forums. I didn't realize the whole album was available. I am now stealing that shit.
Which doesn't mean I won't be buying the album may 2nd.
I've probably listened to vicarious a hundred times already. I just want more.

Check out Jambi, 10,000 days, The Pot, and Right in Two. 10,000 days is the best song that I have heard in my life. Eleven minutes just wondering how the sound is possible.
The album is about MJK's mom. When he was 11, she died in 2003 roughly 10,000 days later.

I say it again, compared to Lateralus it is nothing. Sounds too much like one of Maynard's side projects and the lyrics in 1/2 the songs are ridiculous.

I'll agree with most who say it's a different sound for them. When I listen to it I feel like it's a lot more heavy and direct than a lot of their past works which seemed more progessive and melodic.
