 How do you like my new Liquid Culture jars?

I got the tubing @ Ace. The Yellow is skinny, so it seals around the needle tip, the clear is a little bigger. It's not in the picture, but I'm making covers for the Yellow out of the Clear tubing, since the yellow is probably too small to stuff polyfill into, so that I can just slide off the cover to suck some out. My only question, now that I look at them compared to Agar's, is are my tubes so skinny that I wont get enough gas exchange?

Yeah looks like hot glue to me, I dunno if that will hold up to PC temps.
BTW Whacked, Do you really need a dozen LC jars? LOL

i always feel bad about having too many liquid cultures without the space or time to use them all.... bring the poor little fellers into this world, no hope of ever touching hypha to substrate. I've even been cosidering choking down a few jars of the slurry just to experiment... though it sounds disgusting.

i feel the same way. but when i do grow shrooms i feel a sense of accomplishment because without me these shrooms would never have grown or lived at all. theyd still be spores floating around.

I think I heard agar say he tried this a while back. He started a huge LC then strained out the mycelium and made tea with it or something, If I remember correctly it didn't have any effect or very very little. I think he also said the then tried exposing it to light first then tried it again and it only had very mild effects.

lo, you guys are hilarious. It's silicone, btw, and yes, I intend to PC them. And I need a dozen, because I like to do everything at once, I'd rather make one really big batch of malt/dextrose and do it all at once, and since one spawn bag takes 140ml's a half full lc jar is only doing 2-3 bags anyway. So back to my question, will that be enough gas exchange? Becasue if so I'm going to make some plastic lids the same way... Agar?

The bigger tube, stuffed with a small wad of polyfil will allow enough gas exchange.

hey agar should i open up my evenflow lc bottles every few days for exchange? I have a $40 hepa air pufirier always running in my room...
You see i never made tubing for exchange. Also i used generic "great value" light corn syrup w/ vanilla instead of karo, and it wouldnt pull back into my 18 gauge cc syringe, so i just measured out a teaspoon.

Try heating the corn syrup next time, that should decrease the viscosity to a point where you can suck it up.
And opening baby bottles is risky

I don't know if that was meant to be funny, but I LMAO on that one! 
BTW, spores will last much longer then an LC as far as storage goes. They will live to grow another day...
