Its starting to get warm out
    #5507248 - 04/12/06 09:36 AM (17 years, 11 months ago)

And when it gets warm outside its gets HOT inside(atleast this kids ghetto ass apartment,I hate my slum lord ).  Living in a place with no air and the worst ventilation I have ever encounterd sucks.  So for me that means that my FC gets too hot. I have a simple PMP and during the day the temps inside have gotten up to 80. Anyone have any tips on how to keep the temps lower? If I leave the lid cracked a little the temps are fine but the rH suffers dramatically.  Any help would be great.

I can only think to add a fan to the room itself to try to lower the temps 4-5 degrees. Best of luck.

Try like doing a TiT, but without the heater. So it just sits in cool water. I dunno - I'm a n00b. Good luck <3

You can freeze some gallon size plastic milk or water jugs, put them in the room, and they will help by maybe 5 degrees, if it's a very small space. GL.

How about putting some of those ice things you use to put in drinks coolers ontop/ontheside of the fruiting chamber, maybe that lowers the temperature a bit

http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll...oner&category0=

Search your local thrift stores, junkyards, classified ads, etc. for working window air conditioner units.  I bet you can find something cheap, and if you can't I bet you can find a whole buncha box fans and get some air moving through your place.  If you use the ebay link I provided try narrowing it to some distance from wherever you live, who knows, you might find something cheap nearby!

I just bought a real nice window unit last year. My apmnt is actual an old victorian house turned into units and like I said, is VERY drafty. I can keep it on 24/7 and on a good day can keep the small room its in a cool 74degrees. I think I am going to make some sort of radiator out of a water pump and a bunch of copper tubbing, we'll see how it goes.
