I cannot see the grow log forum and have decided to post my grow log here. please do not reply to this thread. I will update it as soon as needed. pictures of the grow coming soon after updatable results are observed. I believe I will be attempting a varied array of projects.
This grow was handed to me from a friend who has recently failed out of school and couldn't take his syringes home with him for the upcoming year. his favorite strain was F+. I believe I am fairly confident and know what I am doing. I promised him sporeprints in exchange for his spore syringes.
12:45p 03/20 Jars 1(richard d james) and 2(smokey) (.5-pint brf/verm) innoc'd with pesa Jars 3(paisley) and 4(binger) (.5-pint brf/verm) innoc'd with puerto rican Lost binger to contams. paisley, richard d james, and smokey survived.
4:30p 04/03 Jars 1(seven sphetzer), 4(patches), 5(hazel), 6(*) (.5-pint brf/verm) innoc'd with puerto rican Jars 2(toby maguire) and 3(tequila) (.5-pint brf/verm) innoc'd with pesa Jar 7(bigboy) (~.5-pint brf/verm (unusually tall and skinny)) innoc'd with pesa bigboy was handed to my roomate wrapped in foil and they were told to incubate between 80 and 86. (we will see what happens with that one)
1:15a 04/04 paisley is at 5%, richard d james is at 5%, smokey is at 20% all jars (except bigboy) being maintained at 80-85 inside a cardboard box on the top of my computer monitor.

paisley and richard d james seem to be stalling. smokey is about 25% but showing slow progress. I took all three of them (tyvek tops on paisley and richard d james and coffee filter under foil on smokey) and loosened their lids, putting them upside down in the incubator. Weird that the one with coffee filter under foil (the lid I was forced to use in a pinch) is the one that is furthest along?
seven sphetzer, patches, hazel, toby, tequila showing no growth yet.
jar 6 (name protected) was actually named a lucky name and no shit has really thin myc growth but it is across wide areas (even more colonized than smokey) and I think it's 33% colonized in this light fuzz (which is definately rhizomorphic). Crazy insane! I will get pictures of it along with the others soon.
My incubator consists of a tall box sitting on top of my monitor, three layers of folded tshirts keeping them from the bottom of the box, then a tyvek envelope layed flat, then a piece of cardboard for the jars to sit on. Then the box is wearing a t-shirt like it was a human to keep the top lid closed, and there are three tyvek envelopes on top of the crack that is visible through the shirt neckhole with a magazine on top of them. I have a thermom in there and I try to keep it 84.
Pictures coming. especially during fruiting.

Jar 6, which was previously unnamed and we will now call "lucky", is the only jar still in the running and is about 90% colonized.
paisley, richard d james, and smokey all stalled for good. I opened them up and took the chunks of mycelium out -then dunked the chunks and rolled them in verm, putting them in my fruiting chamber. nothing will probably come of these nuggets but I am hoping.
The incubator I used was a piece of shit computer monitor. though I thought and hoped the jars were fine I was mistaken. the surface got too hot and then spent a period cooling when I would turn it off. you learn from your mistakes - but this next batch should be aey'okay.

Reply.
You could post in your journal if you didn't want public replies.
Also without replies who would tell you that using an incubator in any temps above 65F is detrimental?
Jeez what a mess...
