Cinnabar Chanterelle?

I found these in Jamaica 5 feet down a rocky cliff ledge overlooking the Caribbean Sea growing on a mixed wood/dirt/rock substrate, and you can see the vegetation growing in the pictures. Unfortunately I've reached the upload limit for today, but I have one or two more pictures I'll post tomorrow.

yes those are Cantharellus cinnabarinus.

here in florida i find them in the summertime underneath oaks and pines.

i've never eaten them before, but next time i find a decent amount i will try them.

one book (Common Florida Mushrooms) says that large servings of them cause digestive irritation.

I suggest cooking them thoroughly, to avoid the tummy ache...Great find.....

Cantharellus cinnabarinus for sure. They are not nearly as good as the larger chanterelles IMO, but they are edible.
