First flush
    #5464227 - 03/31/06 02:06 PM (18 years, 20 days ago)

Ok well my first flush is on its way. I think in about 6 days they should be good to pick. What should i do when picking them off the cakes? Also when i first put them in the fruiting chamber i used the dunk and roll tech. on all 8 cakes. 4 of them i had in water and in the fridge for 8 hours, and the other 4 stayed in there for 16 hours, could that have hurt them. The 4 cakes i put in for 8 hours are growing pretty well, but the other 4 only have 2 to 3 pins. I'll have pics up tom, so that you can see what im talking about. Any advice is much apprecaited

"What should i do when picking them off the cakes?"

I assume you mean "how to pick"...grasp firmly at the base of the shroom and twist-n-pull. Try to harvest the whole cake at once. Pick off any aborts, and your done.

No.

"The 4 cakes i put in for 8 hours are growing pretty well, but the other 4 only have 2 to 3 pins."

No worries, the longer fridge duration may have delayed pinning. Flush should be similar on all cakes. The cakes in my sig were dunked over 16 hrs....
