Alright,
I have 5 prime cut seeds from a sack of bomb I bought.
This is the first bag I've ever seen or bought in California that had any seeds.
Out of an eighth I got 5..
It's was top quality chronic so I would like to grow these..
I have grown plants before (regular plants, flowers, etc...) and I've never really had trouble keeping them alive...
So I figure I must have some sort of a green thumb?? lol
I've done 1 bullshit weed grow before where I didn't really care, just did it cuz it was cool...
I only grew 3 for about 2 months then I had the better judgement to cut them down (house property issues)...
They were healthy and probably would have flowered if I let them...
So I was wondering:
When is the best time to plant the seeds?
I will be doing outdoors in clay pots.
I live near Sacramento, CA...

I lived in the bay area when I grew outside and I always started seeds outside second week of march.

I'm just worried because it still gets down into the 40's at night here...
Will that stunt/hurt the plants at all?
And do seedlings get direct sunlight all day?

if you're planning on keeping them in the pots until harvest, you should wait a while to start them, otherwise they'll be really rootbound by the end of the season unless said pots are pretty big.
plastic pots would probably be a better idea too, unglazed clay wicks away alot of the soil moisture, good for cacti, not so good for water hungry herbs like cannabis.
temps 40+ won't kill them, but they might grow a little slower at low temps. you want them to have as much sun as possible, always.

if your in california check websites or garden centers and see when ppl place tomatoes and peppers outdoors. this is after the last frost. but first start them indoors under some cfl's preferably or plain old fluoro tubes. i doubt you have a HID but use that if you do. start it now and wait until tomato growers put there plants outside. local growers (tomatoes) are full of useful info. trust me its better to do it by the book than to take short cuts and end up wasting your time with leafy/airy buds. for seedlings you dont need much light, i would say use 30 wsf? this will get them going pretty good. think about 3 weeks indoors then go outdoors.
now how big are these clay pots?. since you live in a good climate (theres 2' of snow here in alberta canada..lucky bastard) you can grow monster plants that will keep you in the green for at least a year. but you need big pots. many ppl use plastic garbage cans at least 40 gallons in your area. i must stess that you get what you put into it. nothing more. ive been doing it for i think 9 years outdoors and several indoors. rootbound plants =problems. shitty soil=no drainage=problems. a good rule is that roots grow the same length as the plant does. (5' plant has approx. 5' deep roots) this is just a rule though. if you have a 5' plant in a dinky 5 gallon pail baking in the sun on your deck your gonna run into problems. especially if its a black bucket. from 5 seeds, count on 2 females that will finish.
