my question is.. how often, if ever, do ban points get erased or reduced.. i would really like to change my behavior here.. i had an incident the other day which was really ashame.. someone got their panties in a bunch.. however i would like to reform my ways and have a fresh start.. just wondering after how long would that happen

From not long ago in the "find out how many points you have" thread.

if you have misbehaved, just stop doing it and you will be fine
if you have misbehaved badly maybe also apologize to whoever it concerns.

Once you're on the list, you're fucked. As some mods have recently admitted they are unable to separate their feeling from their responsibilities, and thus, bias ensues.

Are we supposed to find this unusual or unjust?

Well it kind of is if he's prohibited from attending a gathering just because he made a stupid puppet as a joke like he says he did.

hmm i think u have the story a little switched around.. althou u make me sound better.. i made an account in like july of 05.. got sick of it.. and made a new one.. used both of them.. and wrongfully rated myself with my puppet account.. that accounted for some ban points that i did recieve
my reccent banning from the pub came from the following quote in a thread titled "sluttiest person i know".. i said "im going to have to go with blinkidiots mom on this one, just kidding lol" and that landed me out of the pub until atleast may 1st.. i think its kind of harsh but tis be the law i suppose

Actually, the whole puppet thing happened BEFORE the ban-o-matic. That accounts for NONE of your points. Once the ban-o-matic was instated everyone started fresh with a clean slate.
You have had six separate infractions, mostly Pub related, for a total of 21 points. That's more than a lot of other people have. and somehow you managed to never get banned. But things stack up, so take this break from the Pub and run with it.

I believe the decision to push the banometer button should be objective. It should not matter who the user it, but what they have done.

As far as I know, that's exactly how it works. It's the whole reason for having the ban-o-matic script - to take the subjectivity out of moderating. instead of having to think "have i seen this guy do something shitty before??" it is listed right there for us to see. if the person hasn't done anything wrong before, they don't have any points and can't be banned. if they've got points for shit before, they get a ban (or less, at the mod's discretion).

ill admit.. every thing i did in the past did indeed deserve warnings/ ban points.. however my most reccent was completely uncalled for and wa the result of someone wanting me to be banned and waiting for any chance to do so

saying that someone got their panties in a bunch...
probably isn't helping your cause much!~
I heard that if you send Ythan some of your stash...
you get a fresh start.
Or you could always send Thor some nakkid pics...
I heard he's into that...and dwarf throwing.
