think about if you were blind and took a good amount of shrooms or cannabis. what do you think the trip would be like? would you have closed eye visuals? my opinon is that youd have one hell of an intense inner trip. i plan to keep my eyes closed the whole time one time when i smoke alot of cannabis. ill post on what happens.

Depends if the person was blind from birth or became blind later in their life.

how would that affect the trip? i still think it would be mostly the same trip, depending on how long youve been blind. lets say you went blind 2 weeks ago, your probably gonna have a different trip than someone whos been blind alot longer and is used to it.

Well stoned might not be a whole lot different since i don't get any visual stuff.

But shrooms or acid must be a whole different experience for blind people. Would the visuals even manifest themselves(in a blind at birth person)? Would the inner life become insane or would their audio perception shift like our visual, which they rely on like we do our eyes? How about tactile function?

yea, i think if you tripped whilst blind youd expereince a way more deep and personal inner trip and still be able to feel the body trip, which would probably be alot more intense.

i belive that whatever the trip lacks in visuals it will make up for with the other sensations you get whilst tripping. for example, you cant see anything so instead of colorful patterns appering when you close your eyes they would dance in your mind.

And the topic is interesting, I never knew about another topic like this, and neither others who gave answers.
OK
Now I think it is possible that mushrooms can open up the third eye. They have to see something, even someone who's being born blind it's possible to see something.
I also think that an important thing to consider is what caused their blindness, which parts are affected.

thats a very good point, if only certain parts are broken but others are ok does that affect the trip as well? so thats another point that goes towards weed being legalized, allows blind people to expand their vision in different ways.

There are tones of solid provves that weed should be legalized, but nothong happens. Maybe our generation will be able to do it, who knows?

Well, it doesn't really matter which parts of their brain or vision is broken. If a person has never seen light, they will not get visuals like you understand them. There will be no color shifts because they do not know what color is. There will not be morphing sights because they have never seen anything.

If they get any visual equivilant, it will be perhaps moving and shifting geometric shapes in their mind or things they only understand through tactile or auditory senses. Perhaps even smell.

To understand this, you'd have to understand what a blind person "sees" while sober, which is impossible for anyone who isn't blind. It's not equivalent to closing your eyes, because you still see the backs of your eyelids, so CEV's would not apply.

Someone who can see cannot envision nothing, just like it's impossible to think about nothing.

I would guess, however, that a blind person would receive some auditory and other sensory hallucinations, that may somehow integrate into the images in their mind? It's an interesting topic, but all anyone can do is guess.

I think actually that a blind person would experience closed eye visuals and fractal patterning. This is because the images we see are not coming from our eyes, but are caused by misfiring neurons in the brain. Assuming that said blind person is only suffering from optic nerve damage, the image center in the brain will still be 'self oscillating' and thus generating those crazy fractals.

Yeah, that makes sense.
Anyways, if a blind person's seeing sense is not functioning - duh - , and
other hallucinations happen like smell, hearing, etc, it would be pretty interesting to do psychedelics with a blind person, because you can see what he feels and you don't because you other senses didn't have the chance to make such a big evolution.

I'm not so sure. I was under the impression that everything we see is a result of light from the external environment hitting the photoreceptors in our eyes, which communicate with the brain. If a person's optic neveres are damaged, I don't understand how he/she could see anything, other than imagined forms within the mind, which isn't really "seeing" in the sense that we're talking about.

I gave some mushrooms to a blind guy once; I met him at a party.
He really didn't comment much on what he saw, mostly he just walked around bumping into things and giggling about it.

these are all good points. i think that even if a blind person cant see any visuals that theyd have a great trip because if you respect the drugs you do theyll show you a good time.
