Corn cob as a substrate?
    #5333000 - 02/23/06 08:37 PM (18 years, 1 month ago)

I've been spawning WBS to crushed corn cob to make lots of spawn. In fact, I ended up with so much spawn that I still have several gallons of colonized cob, and 12 colonized jars of WBS. I transfer the WBS to the cob in mycobags, and was thinking that I could just let some of them fruit in the bag.

But how good is cob as a substrate, anyone have an idea? I don't want weak shrooms, but am willing to give it a try.

Test it out.

I recently knocked up some cracked corn quart jars. I don't intend to use it for spawn, going to straight case it.

I couldn't imagine them being weaker than a PF cake.

i got 9 jars of cracked corn in the pc right now

you dont need to soak it right... just simmer it till it gets slimy, rinse well, strain really well, add a little verm(optional) and pc.. right?

thats what i did.. hope its right
