Alpha human software

Is the current version of homo sapiens pre-alpha, alpha, beta, maybe even already release version 1 of the finished evolutionary product? It's around as buggy as Microsoft Human Beta 1 would be it seems, no? But MS has a reputation for botching things anyways. How long until our race will be as distant from todays point as we now are from chimps?

I thought you were of the opinion that evolutionary process is a result of random events. And that it is "full of myself" to think that I am for any purpose whatsoever. If so then this question doesn't make sence. No alpha, no beta, no release, just this constant accidental process of change, which may stop at any time, really. Or not?

Hmm, we have had quite a few millions of years of beta-testing behind us, so we should be fairly bug-free by now, although with wetware this complex you can never know.

But then again the past is only memory, and what is that (sounds trite, I know)? our software is constantly being re-written, or perhaps is always being written anew?
