Do you think Britney Spears is hot?
This is full of philosophical ramifications, but that is for you to talk about. I'm simply asking the question.
Peace.

She reflects the mainstream image of what is considered hot. I personally can't stand that look. To me, it represents the mindless consumerism and lack of intellectual depth which is so pervasive in society.

Do you think Britney Spears is hot?
Yes - I would say she has the internal temperature of approximately 98 degrees Fahrenheit.

But she has boobies!
And would you rather see Ayn Rand in a tight outfit gyrating about?

I pretty much agree with paradigm. She's "mainstream hot" which means she can get really skinny and really almost-naked. Without the airbrushing and the hip-huggers with the whale tail she isn't much more hot than your average girl. I've seen lots of girls in real life that make me want to die just looking into their eyes... just their eyes! But Spears is only really sexy when she TRIES to be sexy (or when the producers make her sexy).
And yeah, I think that holding her up as an ideal of female beauty promotes unhealthy body image for females, and also degrades them into nothing more than sex-objects/bimbos. A womans purpose in life isn't to look good...

If this is moved, it belies the lazy precedent that is already set.
I'm gonna go ahead and take this time to nominate fireworks for "Hater of the Year".

Now is she motivated to be hot to sell records, or is she lazy because she's always showing up in those magazines looking like somebody sat on her face?

Granted I don't follow Britney's career, seeing as how she's shoved in my face by the media, which is an almost sure way to get me to dislike a celebrity.

The BS image is the epitome of the middle-high upper class schoolgirl. She is the lust that America is always starving for, the picture-perfect jailbait that many young girls try to strive for the moment they hit puberty.
Does the actual stage persona reflect her true personality? I say not. But who cares? Except for a very lucky few, others will never get to know her true persona, but will always lust for that boner-ific schoolgirl image that she once portrayed.
As far as attractivity goes, beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, and this question is always one of the subjective matter. Her true nature is never really revealed and I cant judge that factor as personality goes a long way.

I have to laugh at this thread.
In justakids thread, he asks a serious philosophical question dealing with his real life, expecting serious philosophical answers, and you come in and insist that it's off topic and should be moved to another forum.
It's not moved, so you react by creating a thread asking a generic and mundane question, that has little to nothing to do with spirituality or philosophy, just as a 'test' to try and prove some sort of moderator bias.. and you get serious answers to your superficial question.. and for what? I have to question your intentions here. justakid was asking a serious question.. you're just being rediculous. Trying to start a revolution?

Just as several other members insisted it was off-topic and that it should be moved to another forum. There is no difference between my question and his in terms of how seriously philosophical it was. It has been demonstrated that it does not matter what your question is or that you do not present it in a philosophical/spiritual manner, just as long as someone along the way, among the several members who suggest it is in the wrong forum in their view, makes a philosophical/spiritual reply.
None of this pertains to my thread itself anyways, so I must insist that you do not derail it further.

You are going to have to substantiate your claim that my question is merely generic or mundane, as opposed to having philosophical/spiritual content, as you have made the claim. Obviously, people who have already posted have found philosophical/spiritual merit in my question and have responded in manners that are the essence of this forum, regardless of whether or not I have presented the topic in a manner that outlines its philosophical/spiritual nature. As recent precedent clearly demonstrates that this allows the thread in question to remain in the forum, then everything is fine.
I could care less about moderator bias, it has already been known to me and numerous participators in this forum for quite some time. I am simply interested in partcipating with this forum in manners that are shown to be allowed.

I'm going to have to question your intentions, then. I proclaim that my question is quite serious, and it is. I am also not trying to start a revolution, as nothing good ever comes from doing so.
Peace.

This is definitely evidenced by her overwhelming popularity, which continues to persist and grow even when she is not active. Her moron husband was probably a business move to get more guys to go crazy about her, because they all know that they could kick his trash ass.
It certainly makes a statement about society and what it involves itself with, at any rate.
Peace.

She has or had a hot young sexy body ready for sex. But is she hot as in someone you would want to know other than to fuck. NO.
