PF tek cakes?

sides and bottom are all white but i opened the lid and the top had little if none. i was thinking maybe cause this step

Fill up the jar with dry vermiculite to the top.

only about 1/4-1/2 dry in the jars. are they ready for light to start pinning or should i wait.

if u can;t tell it's my first time.

It sounds like they are ready. There is no myc on that part due to it having no water mixed in with it. That layer is only there to protect contams from getting to the cake. It's just a barier layer. I usually take an empty syringe, fill it with water and moisten the verm before I birth the cake and then put another layer of verm on top of it once I turned it unside down. Moisten that layer of verm as well. Keeps the cake hydrated.

ok dunked for about 20 hours now sitting in a 10 gal tank with verm. layer on the bottom hum. looks like 80-85 and just sitting in my room not heaters coo?

will look in a few hours before i hit the sack what the hum % is.

could i case after dunking?

answering me self here. there would be no need to dunk if caseing right cause thats what caseing is added more moister and shit for the shroom/fungus to grow off of. (am i right?)

in the tank ouw humi. is about 85-90 temp is 76.4 damn it's like x-mas morning but with there guys i have to waitday to day to see when it's gonna happen. any pointers would ber great thanxguys for all the help

wondering how long it should be about before i see mushies starting been 2-3 days now humi. at 90-95 at room temp 75-71 not 100% sure how much light but atless 4-6 hours.

PS it's B+ on BRF cakes 1/2 pint

dont get worried untill 2 weeks have gone with no pins.

sounds like your set up is gonna work. just try to put them in somemore light and the pins may come quicker.

remember they dont need special light. if you can, just put your f-chamber on top of a shelf or behind a desk. someplace that the slightest light can hit.

and Fresh Air Exchange never hurt anyone!

yeah open it up 2-3 times aday only 2 cakes in there now this was a test.

PS i have 2 1 pt jars about 75% there but going really slow if any can u just take those as is and case them also i test.

this is my first time doing any of this so i wanted to feel diffrent things out.

how long has your cake been fruiting? once the cake has been introduced to fruiting conditions i wouldnt case and go back to incubation.

also you can still case after dunking. my 1st casings are 2 days into fruting right now and i dunked the cakes for 12 hours prior to casing them. they are doing just dandy so far.

how many cakes do you have?

i can understand where your coming from.

the cakes will be fine just give them time. i know everyday seems like forever waiting for fruits but IT WILL PAY OFF!

as for the 1 pt jars you have let them get 100% then case. you could go early but its not recomended. your risk of losing them to contams will be much higher.

a general rule of thumb is once you think they are 100%, give them atleast another 2 days.

I dunked and rolled.

it looks like the myc is still growing like over the verm. i rolled it in normal or do i need to change the humi or lighting. humi 88-90% and temp is room about 75-76 but my girl like to sleep with the window open and out side temp is 40's here at night and the tank drops to 70-72 from what i have seen in the morning. thanx will take some pics in the next few days
