Portugal Bound, Should I Do It?

I'm 21 and I've had a pretty interesting year up until this point. I tripped last night and my trip was different than normal, I had an intense feeling of divergence, to get away. I failed out of school this semester with a stellar 0.9 GPA, primarily due to my laziness and lack of motivation. So I'll get to the point. My parents bought me a trip to Portugal for spring break, they couldn't cancel the ticket so I was able to go in spite of my grades. SO, the way I see it is that all that is waiting for me at home is unemployment, no school, and potentially living with my parents  :confused:. Plan B sounded a lot better; stay in Portugal, get a job, get an apartment. I did a little investigating and found an apartment in Marinha Grande, 6km from the beach for 99 Euros a month. In addition to that, I found a potential job as a courier, since my Portuguese is limited at best. I'm not crazy or anything, but I'm not sure I can handle my life as its going right now - please post whether or not this is a stupid idea - I need help!

My reason to go there would be cigars. Thye're heavily abundant and extremely cheap--mostly authentic Cubans, too.

But yeah, what reason don't you need to go to Portugal? There's nice weather, women, surf... it's fuckin'idyllic out there, man. My friend has a villa right next to the beach, we stay there every now and then.

You might wanna check up on the laws regarding immigration; it's a part of the EU and unless you're an EU resident you may have some paperwork to sort out. Also, be sure that you can speak enough Portugese to get by, don't expect people to speak English to you. I learnt this the hard way visiting Barcelona back in October.

Otherwise, yeah, head there and have fun. :thumbup:
