Do you shake your jars and THEN spawn?

I was wondering if it was common for people to shake their fully colonized spawn a day or two before they spawn to bulk. I mean Take a jar of 100% WBS then shake the shit out of it. Then let it recover 24-48 hours and THEN spawn it?
LEt me know. Agar? I know your reading this what do you do.
Thanks in advance

Doing that does seem to increase the colonization speed of the bulk.

I don't shake WBS jars before using them as spawn. I just gently dig it out & go for it. My jars are colonized 110% cement solid & difficult to shake, at that stage.
However, I do crumble/manipulate large sealed filter/patch bags 24/36 hours before opening & using them as spawn.

i wouldnt do it. no need to beat the shit out of it before you ask it to grow on the poo. when spawning, break spawn up into individual kernels, and do so in a gentle manner. the only difference will be that you havent fucked with it nearly as much. often times it more or less crumbles in your hands, shaking a fully colonized jar however will require a lot of impact and bullshit.
dont do it. just break it up as much as possible when spawning.

really, many people shake their grain jars too much. doing so can damage the myco network. the only times i ever shake are when i first inoculate the jars and at about 5% (rough estimate) colonization

The idea is recovery, but not so much that it becomes a clump again. If you shake colonised grains they end up looking 50% again as the myc comes off or is compressed. If you spoon it out and crumble it up it also looks exposed again. If you shake and leave grow for 24hrs it is supposed to be more resistant to initial contams since it is covered in nice fluffly growth once again. Thats the reason given in TMC anyway. When it is taken out and mixed it gets compressed again anyway if spawning to bulk. But if you are gently pouring into a tray it may be a bit beneficial.
