Remote hygrometer perplexing me.
    #5052577 - 12/12/05 02:13 PM (18 years, 3 months ago)

Many may deem this a stupid question but here goes.

The RH is obviously high in my FC. (condensation on cover and walls.)

Even seeing the first pins. My hygrometer claims the Rh is 34%...if this was the case the cakes wouldn't be able to pin i imagine. I suppose I could put the sensor in a glass of water to see if it reads 100%.

Sounds like the gauge is off....don't stick it in water....

Hippychick wrote about a SALT test....something like place the gauge in a plastic bag with a bowl of salt(unknown amount)and water (unknown amount)....search for it

What type of gauge are you using.......

Tablespoon salt , 5-6 drops of water , place in zip-lock with gauge . After a few hours it should read 75% .

Many of the thermometer/hygrometers with the remote sensor are able to remotely sense temperature only.

yes dog. I was supecting that. And getting pissed off. I bet it would ruin the base unit to put it in the FC. =P

correct. I am stupid today. Didnt even think that "oh look there is no sensor on the probe." My brain stalled and I need a jump.
