Top Layer of the Shit Casing

1. The top layer of coir/verm was placed over the colonized poo three days ago.

2. No noticeable signs of mycelium growth near the surface.(temp of substarte 81F)

3. Do I want the top of the casing layer to become "colonized" before placeing it in the FC?

4. Or is this a case that I do not have to patch, and I can simply put in the FC?

yes yo uwant the casing layer to be fulyl colonized...i never used poo yet..but i would imagien that uw ant the casing white..my soil/coco coir is white fully..

I like to have just a nice light covering of mycelium all over the top of the casing. NICE AND EVEN that's the ticket.

If I get a thick spot that's when I will lightly patch and then directly into the FC.

im still new to poo myself but isnt 81 a lil high for a poo casing?? i thought u wanted to keep it around 70-75 since they generate there own heat and the higher temps will cuz it to ferment.. but like i said im new to poo.. so if a vet could answer..
