loved it but they seemed to be suggesting that likeness means equal, and they interpreted the visual cortex at the back as meaning something base, adn teh motor control cortex as the executive director, adn it is not that but it does regulate action, and the cerebellum and the musculature so it is something of a master - and visual cortex is something of a slave since eyes opened and 3-d imagined events are processed there.
still it was good to watch the meditator achieve fairly regulated brainwaves in contrast to the wild stuff.
nothing wrong with that at all and the impact on students cannot be bad. thanks for the heads up I did watch it while working with headphones and the screen part covered most of the time so nobody knew.

this is amazing.... i really hope this gets off the ground.
it also gives me faith that i really can reach something through meditation... because what i'm looking for is what is coming out of the mouth of this inspired man.... i could feel the emotions welled up in him when he was speaking of his experiences at times.... i had no idea he was such a beautiful individual.
an artistic genius, yes.... but .... i didn't know he was more than that.

Om Namah Shivaya, I tell you What!

This is a streaming video of David Lynch and some scientists who speak about the benefits of meditation. There is some interesting talk about synchronising the brain, tuning it etc.
They hook up this student who has been meditating since he was five and show how remarkably effortlessly he can change and synchronise his brain patterns.
David Lynch describes it all so heavenly.
Thanks. Just listened to it finally.

ya, very good stuff! you just have to skip some parts in the beginning where they're asking questions to Lynch concerning his movies.
Its great to see a theater full of people listening to this stuff.
I loved the part where that physicist talks about the effects of meditation on the brain and how when you look at the brainwaves in a regular state, its mathematically the same as a discoordinated orchestra at the beginning of a concert when they're all tuning their instruments. But how when you look at these brainwaves in a meditative state, everything harmonizes together exactly like when the orchestra starts playing.
Also, "the brain is not a rock, its a river"!

The film questions were the best part.
The claims they make are impressive as was the brainwave syncing they demonstrate (Did I correctly hear them claim that you can reach the full samadhi experience in just four months??? I find that a bit hard to believe.)
To add to the information presented in the video, I was wondering if anyone here has personal experiences with TM that they would like to share?

I know some TM folks but none got that far with it. Still I'm sure there's benefit.

That was definitly the most interesting thing I've seen in a while. Makes me want to give meditation a try, even if it's not TM.
