lighting the greenhouse

What methods do you "experienced ones" prefer for lighting your mini-greenhouse?
-Fluro over the top? -Fluro hanging along the side? -Fluros hanging along both sides?
Basically, I'm wondering which method of light fixture will attract the most surface area of the mycelium? Will a light on top hinder the fruiting on the lower levels of the greenhouse?
Will lights on opposite sides counteract fruiting process by confusing the mycelium into growing towards 2 different light sources?
What is the most efficient way?
I appreciate the insight.

The mushrooms will grow toward the light. Unless you want mushrooms with a 90degree angle of the stem and growing sideways (potentially affecting small mushroom's growth) then go for it.
I would go from the top. As for this affecting lower levels, have multiple lights (instead of a large one, go 3-4 [however many levels] small ones)
Instead of flourecent, check small blue lights (optimal as wavelength of blue light penetrates)...they're cheap as hell...WAY moreso then fluros...

Ok, so you suggest I just get 3 or 4 lights and hang them all over the top?

No, get 3 or 4 and hand one at the top, and the rest at the top of each shelf..like..

I don't use any additional lighting in my green houses.

2 questions:
Don't I need to keep the lighting external to the greenhouse, because the humidity will short-circuit the lighting?
Also, since mushrooms fruit toward light, how would they know which direction to fruit if there was light coming from above and below the mycelia?

1) Depends on which lights you get... 2) Unless your pans/tubs are clear (which they shouldn't be anyway) you shouldn't have a problem..
3) HippieChick's advise has more weight then mine

Mine seem to know which way to grow.
I had thought about adding some lighting , but , things seem to be going very well without it. You'll need to take the humidity into account when picking out lights . If you use them.

HC -
So you have no problem fruiting the lower levels with a simple light on top? Do you use fluro or something else?
Also, I'm aware that blue LEDs are optimal for cubensis, but I am growing gourmet and medicinal for now.

Nope.
Top Shelf
Bottom Shelf
They grew straight up. No lights.
