Do you enjoy going through old posts in the Politics forum?

If you do, explain why. I myself do enjoy it. I like reading threads that have a bunch of old posters that I remember. Also, it is a real eye opener in that I used to be a hardcore debater in this forum and now I only skim posts and maybe try to make a few jokes here and there.

Personally I can't stand reading old posts unless they are relevant to current events for comparison purposes or something along those lines. although sometimes it's kind of neat to see how an individuals political beliefs have changed over time.

I can't remember much in particular. I wasn't speaking just to this forum, but political talk in general. I saw some speech Chomsky made a few days ago that said 3-4 million Afghanis were surely going to die b/c of the invasion.

Why's that?
I'm the exact opposite. I cringe at my current posts. My shit from 2001, 2002, and 2003 was pretty good I think.

Not really anything to do with my positions. They're a bit different now, but I think they were still decent a few years ago... It's just the attitude I had. I didn't investigate stuff enough (I still don't, but I've stopped trying), I would get all upset.
I had zero interest in politics before the war and before I started browsing here. I was a total political virgin. So earlier posts just seem like really awkward and terrible adolescent sex. I'm still no casanova, but I can at least pretend to know what I'm doing.

I don't do it because it seems like there is enough repitition on this forum as it is.

I enjoy the pain and suffering the commies and Islamic terrorists feel. I'm so proud of my country and how we are destroying them.

I occasionally look at old posts, especially since the implementation of the "Related Threads" feature. I also find myself returning to old threads in order to debunk for the fortieth time some of the wilder claims that seem to pop up here on a regular basis -- the "Pentagon Missile" garbage, the "700,000 Iraqi kids died due to UN Sanctions" fantasy, the "Pipeline across Afganistan" myth and others. It's often faster for me to find links in existing threads than to start all over from scratch in Google.
I'm often struck by the level of intelligent debate in some of the older threads back when we had Evolving, Wingnutx, Hongomon and others still posting here. Of course there are some real howlers from those days as well. Nugsarenice, Xlea321/Alex123 and Aaronzhombi (or however he spells it) spring to mind.
If I had more time on my hands I'd probably cruise the older threads more often.

I like to check out some old posts sometimes just to remember the links so I don't have to do it again. Most of the time if I am looking at old posts I am looking at my own old posts. You can put a good bit of research into one passionate post, so why go through that again if you can look it up?
I only post here to read myself again and again anyway. My ego makes all of you inconsequential. I am Jesus Christ. Never forget that fact.

Yeah, I'll admit that I engage in some navel-gazing by looking at my old posts. It's funny...I'll skim everybody else's old stuff but I'll diligently read every word of my old stuff.
