Chinacat
    #4908811 - 11/08/05 11:32 AM (18 years, 4 months ago)

I didnt want to muddy up geo's thread, but all I have to say is damn.. chinacat's wife has one fucking hell of a motherly instinct.

The window of opprotunity there was extremely small, and she was able to tell he was in trouble- while sleeping.

my thoughts exactly.

i am absolutely amazed that she was able to revive him!

i'm a bit of a depressive pessimist so please don't take the following the wrong way as it isn't meant for anything more than mental consideration and discussion and I don't want to detract from the gravity of the situation or come across as if this episode doesn't trouble me greatly, i just can't help the thoughts that crossed my mind when reading geo's post:

<deep breath>

don't you think chinacat was kind of cheated? i mean, he was going out the way practically anybody wants to go.

I'm guessing he's 33... I'd like to go out in my sleep, but not two years ago. But I see your point.

not sure how old he is exactly. he toured in the 90's with dead. I believe he was a college professor. Possibly psychology>>???

These facts are not 100% accurate. Going by my flawed memory.

i didn't realise he was as young as he seems to have been.
i also can't imagine having a heart attack of any proportion at that age.

I also recall something about him planning on writing a book about his days with the dead and slinging crystal.

To that i just have to say.....
Who WANTS to go?
Personally, i'd rather go out kicking clawing and screaming.

I have accepted that myself, along with everyone else, has to die and excepting suicide i don't really get much of a say in how it will take place. i'm not particularly fond of suffering, pain, or any other means of kicking and screaming. if i had my choices i'd go for instant decapitation, having my entire person smashed by something unimaginably massive or simply passing in my sleep. considering the impact the first 2 options leave on those i leave behind i'd have to say passing in my sleep is a good all around choice altho i'm aware the "choice" is merely an illusion to pacify my mind's terror of bodily death.

Yeah, I don't know how many kids he has. The point is that he still has a lot of work left to do here.

as much love as he has for everything and everyone i can't imagine what it would be like for those closest to him to lose him. he's obviously an invaluable member to this community as well (i've read his posts about thumbprinting, laying LSD to blotter, touring with the Dead, etc) and i'd hate to see him go.

here's hoping for a full recovery.. we'll be thinking about you chinacat. (actually, reading the stories he posted about touring/laying blotter/thumbprinting got me to check out the dead's music and particularly the song chincat sunflower, and that's one of my favorites now..)

39 if I'm not mistaken. I know hes about a year or two older then me.

I was a direct beneficiary of the work he did 15 years ago, although we never met personally. My life was changed forever and I have him to thank for that (at least in part). I have communicated this to him through PMs. He is an amazing person and I'd hate to see him leave this world so soon, most of all for his wife and kids (who are lucky to have such a wonderful spirit in their lives!).
