-Found in a very large mound of stable shavings and hay.
-Gills of older ones are dark black while the younger specimens are more brown.
-Stem varies from darker fawn to nice, almost speckled chocolate. I also observed the wrapping effect that I've heard of.
-Cap is a solid fawn on older specimens while darker and obviously zonate on the fresher.
-Spore prints all finished extremely black.

I think there may be some light bluing in the mycelium around the base, it was hard to tell when they were fresh but it seems to be clearer in the full size images. Speaking of which, sorry for the lack of quality photos.. batteries died shortly after sitting down with'em.

you probably could also find liberty caps in maine.

I've been considering looking, there are only a few good places that are close by.  Have heard numerous rumors too, all from very trusted individuals.  Think I may give it a try on Tuesday.  Thanks for the ID :grin:
