Are these liberty caps?
    #4829019 - 10/20/05 10:30 AM (18 years, 5 months ago)

Hi i just found these this morning after a rainy night on a old football field in short grass (north east uk).

The gills are a grey/ chestnut colour similar to the cap but lighter. the stems are pretty short about 5cm, very narrow and again a chestnut colour on most some are lighter and more grey.

the caps vary from about 0.5 to 3.5cm in diameter they are quite conical with a nipple on the end. they were pretty dark chestnut, but the photos where taken this morning and they have dryed out a bit and look kind of tan now.

the spore print is pretty light, but its a kind of red, brown, chestnut sort of colour again.

i can't see any colour of bruising on the mushroom, but they are really dark and water logged so i can't see much on them. the smell mushroomy. They were all growing in and around big bright yellow mushrooms, they looked really horrible so i didn't want to take one home to show you but they all seemed to be growing near them, i don't know if this means anything?

Cheers cheers cheerscheers!!!
