bulk casing question

How come my mushrooms are only coming out of the sides? It's really driving me crazy.

Probably because you aren't misting correctly. That looks dry, at least from the picture. Gotta keep that casing surface moist to support pin growth.

damn it! that's what I figured. I had thought that the casing would provide enough moisture but I guess I was wrong. How often do you mist? Would it be good to hook up my humidifier or should I just stick to misting?

never done a casing but i'm planning on doing one soon. I am the guy that studies extensivly before i do something so i feel confident in tellin you that it's not how often you mist but how much your casing needs it. It's kinda like watering a plant, if the casing is moist you don't need to mist, if it looks dry give it a lil squirt. I'm sure this won't be your last grow so don't be afraid to experiment and find out what's right for you.

I'm all about experimenting, but it was a lot of work to get to these casings :smile: ... I'm just wondering how the pros do it.  Do they mist or do they use a humidifier?  I would like to get rid of my humidifier if I can but if I need it I'll hook it up to my casing.  Although, I did just harvest the largest mushroom I've ever grown from one of these bulk casings.

I hooked up one of my tubes from my ultra sonic humidifier to one of the bulk casings.  I will see which one starts pinning better.

Although, I would still appreciate some pro info on bulk casing humidity.

The people that are using humidifiers are also the people that have a setup so that the humidifiers and such turn on and off at certain times of the day. Like Magash. ANYway. I've seen just as much success with misting as humidifiers and i'm also very sympathetic as far as how much work it takes to grow. I think (but don't hold it against me if i'm wrong) that the reason you aren't getting more responses is because all that can really be said about your problem has been said. Just give it a lil mist and see how it looks in the morning.

lol, right on, sorry, i've been drinking tonight so I'm a bit fired up :smile: ... I'll see which one works better, the misted casing or the one with the humidifier in it.  FYI, i do have a timer setup on my humidifier.
