"Trolling"

I notice Swami is banned again, this time for his "Tooth Fairy" thread. The given reason was that he was "trolling." In the post describing why he was banned, geokills said specifically that if someone else had made the same thread, it would not be a problem, but that in Swami's case, it was a bannable offense. I'm sorry, but double-standards are bullshit. Anything that Swami gets banned for, I would like to think that anyone else would be banned(or at least warned) for doing the same.
It seems to me that the problem is your definition of "trolling" is too broad, and encompasses anything that you don't like, or something that might agitate certain people. Basically, it's just an excuse to ban people on your shit list. Yes, I realize this is a private site, and you admins can do whatever you want and blah blah blah, but that doesn't mean we can't expect certain standards of fairness to be applied. Shame on you, admins! You have failed to uphold such standards.

It's complete bullshit. I lose more respect for the moderators, the admins and these forums everyday.

Oh give me a freakin break. Way to read selectively.
"Had this thread been made by a new user without your history, it likely would be overlooked. In the context of recent events, and being that the thread in question has little to do with Spirituality or Philosophy but rather much more to do with testing the the rules, guidelines, and politics of this community - the thread is inappropriate, has been locked, and you will not be welcome in the S&P forum until you understand that this is precisely the type of behavior we are looking to avoid."

As I said, he clearly states that the same thread would have been overlooked if made by another person. Hence the double-standard.

Just as it is the user's responsibility not to provoke others, it is the user's responsibility not to be easily provoked. When you are feeling offended, sometimes it's up to you to keep the peace. The moderators are not here to coddle. Being too-easily provoked creates just as much of a disturbance as being provocative.

Rather than focus on what may, or may not have gone wrong, let's focus on what could be done RIGHT, in the future. We have 2 weeks to discuss this.
What could Swami do to avoid this, next time?
What could we do?
I am sure that would be a more productive discussion, than bitching to the Admins, in their forum.
I'm sure both sides would like to see an end to Swama.

I posted in that thread fucking with Swami because I pretty much knew that he's was being tongue-in-cheek, so I responded in kind. I came back two hours later and couldn't believe it! My exact reaction was "AW Man, he was just fucking around!"
I understand what the Mod meant by saying that someone else would have been treated differently because of all the drama that has happened over the last week with Swami, but the clamp was very unexpected. I thought that they took it way too seriously, but I can see where they were just trying to nip a pain in the ass thread in the bud before even more drama transpired.

However, when you transcend all this pre-conditioning by returning to the original wisdom of the animal body, then you discover this immense dimension of opportunity. For some people, it is a frightening risk. To me, that's the psychedelic experience." Terence McKenna

I wasn't reading selectively. It's that that piece of information is irrelevant. A thread should stand on its own merits, and not be judged based on who made it.

Suck up and be the administration's bitch? Or how about being someone other than Swami? Don't expect me to understand the administration's twisted logic, because it doesn't make sense.

I can't break the Mod code of silence while being a moderator.
This is a polarizing issue, and I was not being allowed to speak my side of the issue, w/o being accused of crimes. Sorta' like, I am a Liberal who was told to speak the Conservative party line, or say nothing at all.
I also had my mind read exactly ONE too many times.
Sound familiar?
I was causing Staff members to loose trust in me, by speaking my mind, especially in public. I can't blame them, we DO have a code of silence. I crossed the line once, and after that, my opinions were being inspected much like Swami himself! I was being accused of breaking even MORE rules, because of subjective mind reading. I can't fight a battle on two fronts. And, unlike Swami, I have little tolerance for such bullshit.
By the time I stepped down, I was too busy defending my own actions, to be of any help defending anybody else... by the end, my posts seemed to read, "Cervantes said, "Bla bla bla...". There was a distance between what I was TRYING to say, and how others reacted to it. Much like my signature.
I'm a witch!
Don't break a Mod rule, in a room full of Mods.
I stepped down, to reduce Staff drama, and say what I think, in here.
I may be back, but not until the word, "Swama" is dropped from the Shroomery lexicon. And, only if they'll have me.
It was my choice, I hold no ill will towards The Staff, most of whom, are my friends. Remember, unlike you, I got to see how they really feel.
Questions, comments? Drop me a PM.
Let's keep this on topic.

Pretty strange for a website for lovers of Magic Mushrooms and other psychedelics.
Silly me, I had this idea that you all would be more liberal and relaxed than say, the IRS.
