 after 1st flush.

okay last post was too much i guess no one answered. after first flush, i went ahead and put a new layer of 60/40 casing 1/2" deep but not packed down. some mycelium grew through. i misted and then i noticed a few mushies. are things cool? should i not put a new layer between flushes? and the mushies coming now will they be good? or should i take that layer off?

dont take the layer off if its already on there...unless you had a huge flush that destroyed the casing completely just patch and mist over a few days and get it up to near saturation...
not sure if when adding a completely new casing if you want to add a full 1/2 or not...it uses nutes to recolonize

is there anything i can add to put some nutes back into the casing? i thought that the actual casing had some nutes in it as well? ... also, i didnt put a deep casing layer ontop i just re checked but i just thought the mushies would have problems trying to push throught the new layer?

casing layer does not contain nurtrients, i dont think there's really a way to add nutrients into your casing without spawing it to like poo or compost.

okay, well, seeing that i have the layer already there. am i okay cause the 5 mushies that are coming out came from under the new layer of casing which is not much as i thought will the mushies have trouble pushing through?

yeah, you aren't likely to see as much as you normally would. I'd leave it be though. I wouldn't try to remove it, but I also wouldn't do that again.

Pick those mushies and re-inccubate her. Let it come up through that caseing a little more and you might have some more luck. 1/2 inch is a lot to overcome for your myc unless it gets a chance to colonize it. GL.
