casing question
    #4709739 - 09/25/05 12:41 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

for the purpose of experimenting, if one were to harvest say 2-3 flushes out of a large cake would it be at all possible to make a casing out of it at that point. Reason being that there would already be some success from the first flushes but then i would get a little experience casing without worrying about messing it all up and losing time/money.

nope probably wouldnt work. once the mycelial network in your cake has started to pin, it wouldnt grow back together and colonize a casing layer after you crumbled it up

dont worry. caseing is not all that difficult.
better yet crumble up a cake and spawn it to some pasteurized horse poo. case that bad boy after its fully colonized. let that colonize for a few days. then fruit. easy peasy. you will not be disappointed.

Casing recreates the way mushrooms grow in nature, they love it, its the sure way to double, even triple your yields. If you case all of your cakes right from the start you'll be up to your ears in shrooms in no time. I just last night cased 21 fully colonized quart jars in manure beds and I'm expecting to get at least 3 pound from it, trust me casing kick ass.  :bongload:
