light requirements?
    #4677760 - 09/18/05 01:51 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

Is it okay to use fluorescent light instead of sunlight during grow cycles?  I will probably be unable to keep the terrarium in sunlight all the time, so is it okay to keep it in a closet w/ fluorescent light on it?  I know sunlight is better, but will this work occaisonally?  I appreciate any helpful advice...  :mushroom2:

yep, pretty much any kind of light will work.

I use a 4W night light and it works fine for me.

I just use the light thats in my bedroom cieling, florecent would work fine, just as long as its not to close or it will heat up your grow to much.

Have a good one

I hear flourescents work well because they have high blue spectrum light, however I have no idea how true that is. Personally I use a 10w flourescent that is supposed to be for a small fishtank.

Correct
Enless your gonna fruit in the jar your colonizing in, then they call for some light everyday right from the begining. I think its called invetro, but not sure of the name.

I've often heard for fruiting, if you can see them there is enough light.Seen plenty of under bed grows with no supplemental lighting as long as they get some.
