From your description my first thought is Agrocybe.

Is it possible that they are growing from wood (possibly buried wood)? Are the caps, slimy, sticky, moist, or dry? Do they have any particular odor?

Happy mushrooming!

it is very very possible they were growing from buried wood because they grow right beside the tree, some found growing on the wood of the tree. They are dry now because they are a few days old and i dried them, but when wet the caps become slippery. They ahave a faint smell.

I'm a noob, don't take my word for it (REALLY!) but I think they're poisoness, wait for one of the others to give you a certain answer.

Try looking very closely (preferably with a magnifier of some sort) at the edge of the caps and the stems - do you see the remains of something that looks like spider web? If so, is it rusty brown colored? If so, then you have Cortinarius.

If not, then it's going to be tough to be sure whether they're Agrocybe or Pholiota (or possibly something else).

Happy mushrooming!
