Straw Poo Substate and Inncolation
    #4633869 - 09/08/05 12:54 PM (18 years, 6 months ago)

Well, its been about five months since back on this site....more than a little rusty on the subject matter...but here it goes:

1. In the past I have always purchased the pre sterilized spawn bags for inoculation and after cased

2. What about this Tennessee Stud Substrate? Would I inoculate that with a syringe similar to the grow bags?? Or is this substrate simply for casing? Please help a lost ex grower........(Brazilians on the way)

This substrate is to spawn to. Meaning you need to create spawn first with WBS, PF cakes, etc. Then you mix it in with the pasturized poo at about a 20%+ spawn to poo ratio. Injecting spores into pasturized poo won't work.

1. I don't understand your question on this one...sorry!~

---

2. It should be used as a bulk substrate...something you spawn colonized substrate to.

It can be inoculated with a large amount of LC...but not many have done this yet..and I don't suggest someone try it unless they are willing to gamble on it working.

---

I really like the Brazilians.

As I can see, the level of kindness and seer knowledge from this site, more importantly, the people with in it, has not changed,

So after a bulk substrate has been created, I could case in a 50 verm/ 50 coir mix? or does the dung itself become the case?

after the bulk substrate has fully colonized...

you can case it.

or you can fruit off the horse poo without a casing layer.

but I'd suggest using a casing layer.

---

There are several good casing types.

50/50 plus, 60/40 Verm and Coco Coir, and others.

your choice.

glad to see you back!~

So the cased bulk substrate, will yield a more potent mushroom, due to the dung?

Some will say yes, I say NO. The main benefit of a bulk substrate is in it's scale, not it's potency potential. You can turn a dozen quart jars into 60 pounds of colonized Tenn stud without having to pressure cook that much substrate. Also, the scale lends itself to larger casing containers, which IME give the potential for larger mushrooms.

PM me with any cultivation questions.

I just looked at my profile and realized I had a website at one point in time on geocities, it's not there anymore and I have no idea what I had on it. Anybody remember my website from several years aga? PM if so please.

Eat 3 grams of dried BRF grown mushrooms, wait a week or 2 and eat the same amount of dried h/poo grown mushrooms. You will see a much bigger difference with the poo. I notice a big difference and the people I've given the mushrooms to have noticed too. Try for yourself if you need proof.
