Of finding actives in September? Hasn't rained in a while either. It looks like it will soon. Anyone live in Michigan that can give me tips on what to look for, where to look? I've been looking in green grass, forests, and I'm trying to find a damn cow field that's big enough for me to look through. It's hard as hell. Frusterating. Are there any cubes in Michigan?

I live in michigan, about an hour south of Lansing. We've got the rain coming in from katrina soon, and that should help out some. I was out looking today, and stumbled apon a patch of what I think is Psilocybe pelliculosa next to my deck. There's only a few, but more should grow soon. I would say the best place to look here in michigan is by places that are always muggy and wet, like swamps and old streams. I've got a stream right down the road that has all sorts of dead trees that have been laying there for 10 or more years. Should be some good shrooms. Good luck hunting!

No cubes in Michigan. Look for pan. subbs. you might have a month left if it stays warm. Try old straw bails the highway department set up by roadway last fall and older piles of grass clippings and even sometimes lawns after it rains.

Amanitas are starting, but I wouldn't recomend until you learn a lot more about identification.
