More oxygen = Faster mycelium cultivation?
    #4545600 - 08/17/05 03:16 AM (18 years, 7 months ago)

my patience is running out, i really want to start casing but my jars haven't fully colonized.

for all the experienced users, does more oxygen mean faster mycelium growth?  i have some professional use bottles of hair color creme developer, it's got 30% hydrogen peroxide by volume in it.  i took a 1/2 pint jar and then filled it 1/4 of the jar with water and heated it up in the microwave until it boiled, i took it out and poured 1/2 of the jar with the developer.  it's stabilized and stabilized hydrogen peroxide degrades at 80C i read.  this means that the water was hot enough to dilute and destabilize and also degrade the formula, which means oxygen has have had to come out.

tell me what you think, i want to know.

What is the other 70% of the hair color creme developer and why are you using it?

Why not just use pure hydrogen peroxide anyway?

oh, it's just conditioner and water, that's what developers are made of. where would i buy pure peroxide? the developer that i have has the highest amount of h2o2 out of anything i could think of. and i guess i'll just take it out since more oxygen doesn't do shit lol.

by the way, if you have a dasani water bottle, you should fill it up with hot water and put it into ur incubating chamber, it doesn't evaporate if you have the lid on the bottle and it really warms up the place. it worked excellent wen i inserted my fish tank heater into it. it worked well until the water expanded then flooded the insider of my heater 8-) cheap heaters....
