I have to say that there are some amazing songs in this world, sadly most of them are not from our generation. Tool is perhaps one of the few bands that still stand out, i mean really stand out, from our generation. I tend to find the music from the 60's and 70's much more creative and.. often inspiring far beyond anything else i can find.
I just recently bought the beatles number one hits cd. Amazing if you haven't listened to it, i can't wait to get some of their other things that just never hit number one, from what i understand the latter albums strayed from pop but in reality were better composed pieces, i dont know this for a fact, merely what i have been told.
Anyway, as i was listening to this cd, the song Eleanor Rigby played.
amazing, i mean breath taking amazing. I am not one to be so easily impressed, but i must say this song is fantabulous. If i had one word to describe it i think i might say 'people'. I really think this song actually sums up people in many respects, i often find myself standing downtown or in my school hallways just watching people... i dont know why but human interaction fascinates me.
I have decided that this is my favorite song i have ever heard, it just holds so much of what i see in this world into a single song, not to mention the amazing classical music being used by a (once) pop band.
simpley awe-inspiring.
What do you all think, and what, if you had to choose one, is your favorite song of all time?

I'd probably have to go with a classical piece. Beethovens 9th Symphony is one of the best known pieces of music for a reason. It is an amazing experience to listen to it start to finish. And some of the Brandenburg Concerto's by Bach are absolutely beautiful.
