length of time til harvest
    #4495254 - 08/04/05 01:19 PM (18 years, 7 months ago)

Hey again-
I am about to be a first time grower and was wondering if I buy a growbag from mycofactory.com and Equadorian spore syringe from sporeworks.com, approximately how long do you think it would be before I would actually get to eat the mushrooms? I was interested to know so that I could get an idea of whether or not I was on track with my growing experience.

thanks a lot

There are a lot of factors.

Mainly, you'll have to keep your bag at a warm temperature, for a quicker colonization. It could be as little as 3 weeks, til a month or more.

I'm sure there are a lot more factors, but I'm still brand new at this. (Eventhough I've been a lurker for a long time here.)

i ordered from those same vendors and got both items within 8 days. i inoculated my first bag on 7/14, now 22 days later i have a fully colonized bag waiting for pins.
this hobby takes a lot of patience i'm finding.
good luck

usually 6 weeks from my experience but if you innoc your jars with LC, then you could easly take off at least 2 weeks off if not more from the 6 weeks time frame.
