Humidity problems with Martha setup.
    #4493280 - 08/04/05 12:11 AM (18 years, 7 months ago)

Alright, hopefully someone can shed some light onto one of my problems.

I recently purchased a martha portable closet. 36"wx15"d64"h . I basically ripped Hippie chick off and used some PVC to balance out the distribution of humidity in the martha by having 4 inlets, one for each tier inside the martha.

I setup the humidifier(am going to add a second to the mix) and let it run while I was at work. Wanted to see how much the humidity would be at when I got home. Turns out it stayed around 45-46% humidity throughout the day.

When I came home the bottom of the martha had a huge puddle of water sitting there. And the humidifier had run out of water(forgot to fill up before leaving).

Any thoughts?

Also this question is for HippieChick if she happens to read the post... Do your inlets distribute even amounts of air threw each inlet. Mine seem to have more force at the bottom inlet(gravity;D) and pumps out pretty good, but the top can barley muster any force to push out any air. Any suggetions?

Sorry I can post pics at this time. I dont have access to a digital camera/scanner.

Thanks for any suggestions/help!

Are you using a coolmist 24/7 ?

What are you using for humidity ? What is your humidifier ?

Cant believe I left that out. Walgreens brand cool mist humidifier. And it was running for about 8 hours after I first setup.

Not familiar with that one.

If you have 4 inlets you need to have 2 inlets for the coolmist. I have two inlets for the coolmist into the main line,

you can see where the coolmists come in. In between the four inlets to the greenhouse. I only need one coolmist in that house right now but still run it into both inlets,

just ran 2 lines out of the coolmist. If 1 coolmist doesn't give you what you need, get another from Goodwill for $2 and hook it up.

Seal the bottom some what, I believe you have.

Let me know how you make out.

Good Luck
