Gingseng and cannabis combination is known as a clairvoyant mixture.
"A Taoist priest wrote in the fifth century B.C. that Cannabis was employed by necromancers, in combination with Ginseng, to set forward time and reveal future events. In these early periods, use of Cannabis as an hallucinogen was undoubtedly associated with Chinese shamanism."
I have tried this. I reach full blown visual hallucinations, lots of neon patterns. I noticed a rise in my yang levels. I seen all these things in the future. It was amazing.
Has anyone tried this combination?

I take ginseng daily. Marijuana, close to it too (well besides the last few weeks off).
Never noticed a change in the experience since I started taking ginseng though

It's funny you should mention this.
A couple of weeks ago, by complete coincidence, I had cooked the last of my stash into some peanut butter and made PB&J sandwiches. I went downtown and me and a friend ate the sandwiches. We walked into an asian shop where I bought a bottle of ginseng juice(?) with the gensing root floating within. It tasted horrid, but in about 10 minutes it tasted wonderful and I drank the whole thing and ate the root. About two hours later, I became powerfully intoxicated by the sandwich which I had presumed to be a dud. Maybe this was attributal to the ginseng because my friend, relatively new to using marijuana didn't feel a thing.

Yes, I am a stout user of Ginseng. I buy the 10cc vials of 6 year old ginseng root extract suspended in royal queen honey. It really does not taste that bad. People say ginseng is bogus, but I say otherwise. You have to take it for a few days to notice effects, but when you suck down that vial, you will feel it. Ginseng is an all around stimulator which helps blood flow and chi, and has been used for over 5000 years... I CAN SEE WHY!
As far as this mixture being 'supernatural?' , no, I can't say it is. But I can say I love smoking when I decide to ginseng it up for a day. I swear it does a noticeable effect for increased vigor and energy. Just try it out, you can buy 10 packs of the vials for $5 at health food stores, which is way cheaper than paying $1 per vial at a gas station. Not only can I recommend ginseng, but I can recommend Ginko for increased oxygen flow to the brain. Herbs>Pills.

Also, I've found an even more amazing combination than weed and ginseng, is a bit of white wine with ginseng. In fact, I can say this is indeed the superior mix. Just mix three shots of white wine with one vial, and drink down. Hardly enough to get you drunk but the alcohol synergize with the ginseng and not only acts faster but hits you harder.
Also, those little glass vials are perfect for storing kiff or ground bud to keep it air tight, small and concealed.

cannabis is considered the most yin of all the herbs...
and ginseng is the most yang of all the herbs...
certainly _something_ will happen when these two are taken within the alchemical vessel (in deed, within the alchemist hir-self...)

I tried it last night with weed. I am tripping out now. Its comparable with a hallucinogenic. I am 4 gingseng bottles. Thats a large does of gingseng. With a nice pinner of a+ grade. I am seeing into the future. Trippy stuff.

Yup I'm thinking this was probably closer to a 'big fat placebo' than anything of much pharmacological significance. But I'm not gonna discredit it entirely, there could be something there. First I want to know where the quote came from and who exactly was this 'a taoist'.

You have to take Ginseng for at least three days before full effects can be felt. And it's chi power, that is all it does..... What is chi? An invisible, yet real energy pulsing through your chakras.

OK, I will try it. What form of ginseng would you reccomend? Surely there must be some types (brands, products, whatever) that are better. I'd imagine some stuff that says it has ginseng in it probably only has trace quantities.
