why dont we kill all the corrupt leaders?
    #4447613 - 07/24/05 05:33 PM (18 years, 8 months ago)

Why not? , why doesn't everyone do all they can to save the environment , change unjust laws? , educate everyone on FACTS instead of bringing everyone up based on lies?
why aren't extremely greedy people who are poisoning the earth and peoples minds DEAD?

We could change the world if we wanted.

I cant believe how many people exist with closed minds.

If you look at history, that's what has happened. Pretty much any murderous or unfair dictator who has been overthrown has been replaced with someone equally as evil.

And just who is to determine which leaders are corrupt and which are not? You? Me?

Knowing the political leanings of most people on this board I would bet you would put George Bush on the list to be executed. But don't forget, half the country would disagree with you on that decision. Same goes for any leader. Everyone has their supporters and their opponents. So who decides who lives and who dies? Why don't we just let Ossama Bin Laden or Kim Jong Il decide?

Just a thought...

exactly.

I was thinking about this thread and yes the way i worded evrything was a bit extreme and it ended up sounding closed-minded

Who are these people? Can you provide names? Seems the Earth is being torn up by the consumption of, umm, everyone. Do you consume?

It's not the people that are corrupt, it's the positions that corrupt.

I think he's trying to get at the fact that a person can be good and honest, and then when handed power, they become corrupt.

He's saying that the position itself is tainted, in that it corrupts whoever occupies it.

right. but wouldnt that mean that people are prone to corruption? I doubt anyone is coerced into corruption by a title or position of power (how exactly is that possible?). some people are just weak and cannot resist their selfish desires.

The problem I think is that over time the position becomes corrupt little by little until you get to the point that you have current group of pigs in office. We've reached a point where to even be considered you had to have sucked off someone with money somewhere. Killing the leaders wouldn't do much because they're a dime a dozen and easily replacable. I mean there's tons of rich white racists rapist cokeheads walking the streets. Put a bullet in the current one, and another will take his place. However, if you put a bullet in the businessmen and the ones pulling the strings, well then things could get shaken in a hurry.

Guess what? We live in a complex world where such simple-minded ideas are of no use whatsoever. If you care to learn about the real complexities of politics, I'd suggest lurking in PAL for a while(but please don't post).
