Import tripping music( older hippies reply please)

Hello all, I was going to ask this last sunday but a trip got in the way, when I was in college in the late 70,s(yes it was last century) we use to listen to some imported LP,s, that was very strange music while tripping do you,ll know what to goggle for?

im not THAT old but i can try to help. if you remember any of the words to the song you can try to google them. or try a simple search like trippy 70's music. worth a shot at least

i dont know of the ones you are talking about. but check out acid mothers temple they are from japan their sound can be called white noise. you can get mp3's at archive.org.

On a similar note, can anyone reccomend some music that sounds like what Terence McKenna was talking about. The kind where a guy hits a gong with animal antlers, and caused Terence to see the sound. I think it may have had chimes too. I'm looking for stuff like that. I want stuff that is authentic gong hitting though, not something with an agenda, not something meant to be sold.

I found reference to Faust, and it very well might be, but I couldn,t find any music to download and listen too.

It probably was Faust. Their first album called Faust, is a sound collage of different sounds they created. I mean it is still quite musical and has songs in it, but it has no formal song structure. Their second album is still extremely experimental but has actual songs. Their next album called Faust IV is even more song oriented, and is quite brilliant, but still remains very experimental. If that isnt what you are talking about, then you are going to have to define the sound more.
