Mycelium growin on mushroom
    #4387984 - 07/09/05 08:45 PM (18 years, 9 months ago)

I've looked through all of the guides on possible contams and searched for posts but I haven't found anything I think is completely relevant to this situation. The Mycelium seems to have grown up the shaft of the mushroom, everything else seems normal. The stuff that grew up the shaft is very white just like the mycelium and maybe a bit fuzzy but it doesn't look exactly like the pictures of cobweb I have seen. I read something that stated if the moisture is too high sometimes the mycelium will grow on the cap? I guess the questions here is if this is the mycelium what does that mean can I just wipe it off and dry them out for use or is this cobweb and should I just ditch the whole thing.

*Note I went away for awhile and the humidity in the chamber got a bit too high

Sounds like you have too high humidity.. does it look anything like this? if so, it's no problem, just try and drop the RH a few degrees

Is it common, that mycel that is growing on the stems is sometimes
grey (like on the pic) or has a brownish color?
(when everything else like the casing and the part of the shrooms that is not coverd by mycel looks normal)
Or could that be the a sign of some kind of contamination?
