i've tried dropping the temp to 77, but my tub temps fluctuate. so i'm thinking, should i just patch the myc and throw it in the fridge for 24 hours? any feedback is good

If you can't get the temp. drop, yes you can. I've had to do it with some stubborn casings.
Make sure they get enough light, I do a 12/12 cycle. And make sure they get plenty of fresh air.
Good Luck.

Fill a 2 liter or half gallon bottle with water and freeze it , then place it in your tub. I've done this a few times and I always get pins , depending on how big your tub is it should drop to the low 70's.
I would try this before exposing it to the 30 degree temps of the fridge.

Mine's a little too big for that,
I guess I could put a small AC unit in it,lol.
Or do you think the ice thing would work on that ?

I use the frozen bottles with my Martha closet and it works fine , you just have to place them right next to the casing you want to pin.
I've been meaning to come up with a way to hang a 2 liter bottle over the casing so the cold air drops right down on it , just have to solve the problem of condensation dripping on it.

75 is good, i higher temp will make the pins already formed grow faster and it will inhibit your secound flush but you can raise the temp a couple degrees and be fine!!!!and do not patch once the fruiting process has begain, when you patch and start fruiting the mycel will continue to grow for a few days.

there it is. i think i messed up, and should've fruiting it. but this is the 1st layer of poo over the rye grain. i was told your suppose to let it fully colonize then case it. but since i already exposed it to fresh air i was just gonna patch it and drop the temp. i was doing so good until this part. i think i just got confused with all the info on this site, alot've info here clashes with one another. i just hope i didn't screw up too bad

yeah case it! you aren't supposed to case with anything with nutrients in it (like poo) because the mycelium consumes the caseing layer instead of colonizing it correctly...

Casing is supposed to be coir or verm or either mixed with peat.. It's supposed to be a non-nutritious layer, that holds water..

>what do i need?
To do one hell of alot more reading. The poo should have been MIXED in with the grain, not layered on top. After everything fully formed a solid brick, a casing should be applied and incubated for a few more days. You need to get that shit out of fruiting chamber because it isnt even done colonizing, quit getting ahead of yourself and do ONE step at a time, first let the mycelium comsume ALL THE nutrients, then add a casing layer for holding water WITH NO nutrients in it (peat/verm work the best but you need a buffer, coir/verm work very well with a buffer and pretty well without, strait verm works ok, and is very simple, less yeilds compared..but at this point youll be lucky to not get contams).
