aluminum trays w plastic cover work for casing?

if i were to use those aluminum trays with plastic coverings ( about four 1/2" holes filled with poly-fi in the plastic coverl) could it be used as a fruiting chamber until the mushies get too big?

anyone tried it? get back to me. thanks for everyones help in advance

I did pretty much the same thing you are thinking about and didn't have too much luck with fruiting. I don't think that it allowed enough air exchange for some reason. I eventually took the plastic cover off and put the tray into a PMP. The tray began fruiting nicely after that. I now use the double tub setup and it works great for me and I got rid of those flimsy, crappy trays.

thanks for the quick response my only problem is i dont have room in my small cabinet for a double tub only about id say 10"X24"X24"
