How important are stable conditions during fruitng?

Hey guys. My buddy had some rye casings that were in a dry ass busted terrarium because my friend has not set his amazing lemun cave 4-tier system up, and he just transfered them to a sterilite with a coolmist and perlite to raise the humidity about two days ago. He has noticed more pins are starting to pop up, but slowly. How long do you think it will take for the environmental change to take effect? Or will it at all, as the casings were previously in the dry ass greenhouse for 8 days... is it too late or will they flush out?

they should flush out now, make sure the casing layer is it the critical "near-saturation" state.
